Where did we get off track?

I've been asked, 'where did it all start to fall apart? What happened to the most powerful country in the world?'

Well...

We don't kick anyone's ass anymore - that's the problem.  Sometimes, in a world this big, someone needs a good ass kicking - and it used to be you could count on the good old USofA to lay it on you.  Now we fight wars for the purpose of political expediency rather than to administer an ass kicking on behalf of preserving democracy and liberty.  Fight to win or stay home - we do neither.  Somewhere between Dwight D. and Jimmy C. we just stopped winning.

Eisenhower said, "...unlimited war in the nuclear age was unthinkable, and limited war unwinnable."
In other words, fight to win, or don't fight.

Carter said, "Unless both sides win, no agreement can be permanent."
In other words, Japan has simply temporarily suspended its Naval operations.

It's either that or what my granddad used to always say..."ain't nothin' ever been right since we landed on the moon."
